Terms and Conditions
For Guests of Villa Electra
In the mutual interest of all residents, all Guests of Villa Electra undertake to observe the following Terms and Conditions:
Check-in, Check-out
The earliest check-in time is at 14:00 and latest check-out is at 11:00.
Exceptions for an earlier check-in or later check-out may be accommodated based on availability, with prior arrangement and with an extra charge (50% of the daily cost).
Booking confirmation, deposit, and cancellations
Reservations are confirmed upon the deposit of 30% of the total price agreed. This deposit is mandatory, non-refundable and shall be made via bank transfer. Exception can be made in case of a change of dates prior to 61 calendar days before arrival, and the deposit can be used only for booking in the same calendar season depending on availability.
The balance payment shall be completed the latest within 30 calendar days prior to the scheduled arrival. In the event of a no-show or earlier departure, the amount paid will not be reimbursed.
Personal safety
Villa Electra is built on the seafront with direct access to the rocks and deep sea, with minimum interference to the natural landscape, and thus caution is advised. Guests ought to be careful inside and outside the Villa, especially on outdoor steps and the indoor stairs, or when accessing the sea front.
Guests are responsible for their own safety and the safety of their visitors during their stay. The property management does not bear responsibility for any personal injuries or accidents.
Special safety: children and pets
Taking into consideration the special location and layout of Villa Electra and the fact that it is not childproofed, children under 12 years old cannot be accommodated for safety reasons. All Children should be under adult supervision at all times especially around the terrace and in the sea.
Pets are allowed with prior consent from the property management, but must be constantly supervised and kept in the absolute limits of the property.
Wind conditions
Guests are advised to exercise caution and pay attention to wind conditions. Island weather can change abruptly, and strong bursts of wind can be dangerous, so Guests ought to ensure the umbrellas are closed when it’s windy or when they are away, to prevent possible accidents to themselves or neighbors. Any damage to the umbrellas caused by misuse or neglect will result in the full charge of the replacement of the umbrella. In general, Guests should secure items and take necessary precautions to prevent accidents or property damage.
Quiet Time and Noise Prevention
To ensure a peaceful environment for all residents, all Guests and visitors shall respect the following quiet hours: between 14:30 and 17:30 and between 23:00 and 7:00.
Parties, big gatherings, and any kind of events with loud music that might cause disturbance, are forbidden at any time of the day and night.
Care and Due Diligence
If Guests become aware of any damaged items, such as, but not limited to, water pipes, the air-conditioning system, furniture, electrical/ electronic devices, appliances, kitchen or bathroom facilities, etc. they must inform the property management immediately. If a damage occurs as a result of an act of the Guest, the property management is entitled to charge the Guests for damages.
Villa Electra has a long history and contains items from the private collection of the family and ancestors. They have both historical and sentimental value, so Guests are invited to appreciate and respect the cultural heritage of the house. Any damage or misuse lies in the responsibility of the Guests and may be charged.
Guests will be fully responsible for the conduct of their visitors and invitees including, without limitation, damage or defacement of any part of the Villa or its fixtures or property of third parties.
Halki is a safe place. Nevertheless, Guests are advised to lock all doors and keep their valuable items inside the house and not on the terrace. All entrance doors must be kept closed at all times when Guests are not at home or not supervising. The property management does not bear responsibility for any losses or damages.
Housekeeping
Guests are expected to treat the property with care and respect.
Guests agree to keep the property clean and in sanitary condition at all times. Rubbish, debris, empty bottles, leftover food, etc. must be disposed of in the provided waste disposal bins. Empty glass bottles should be placed in the recycling bag under the sink to prevent possible accidents.
Housekeeping services (change of bed linens, bath and sea towels, house cleaning) are provided every 3 days to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards. Due to the busy schedule of the cleaning staff, this planning cannot be changed. Special requests may be arranged based on availability and at additional cleaning costs.
For a more environmentally friendly housekeeping, Guests are encouraged to inform the cleaning staff not to change the linens if not necessary.
Protection of the environment
We respect the sea, and we protect the sea life, so littering the water, by throwing any kind of trash or using soap in the outdoor shower is polluting, and therefore strictly forbidden.
In addition to the Terms and Conditions outlined herein, the Guests agree to abide to the following:
House Rules

Umbrellas: Guests are responsible for the proper care of the umbrellas provided: they should remain closed when it’s windy or when not supervised.

Air conditioning: It is mandatory to turn off the air conditioning when leaving the Villa to conserve energy and reduce the environmental footprint.

Smoking: Smoking is strictly prohibited in all indoor areas, even with open doors and windows. Smoking on the terrace is allowed but it Guests are required to dispose cigarette butts responsibility and ensure they do not cause any fire hazards or littering.

Candles: The use of candles and any type of open flame is strictly prohibited due to the presence of wood ceilings and furniture.

Water consumption: Guests are encouraged to use water mindfully, responsibility and efficiently, considering the island’s limited water resources.

Bathroom: Toilet paper must not be disposed of in the toilet. Guests shall use the designated waste bin available in each bathroom for proper disposal.

Hot water: Guests shall switch on the hot water supply 10 minutes before use to ensure it reaches the desired temperature. Before entering the shower, Guests must switch off the hot water and keep it off for the rest of the time.

Washing machine: Guests are permitted to use the indoors washing machine; however, usage should be reasonable.

Chair mats, sofas, bed covers: When using sun cream or oil products and similar, Guests must ensure that they do not come into contact with bedcovers, chairs, sofas mats etc. to prevent staining or soiling. The use of towels is highly recommended.

Cleanliness: Guests are responsible for maintaining cleanliness and tidiness throughout the duration of their stay.

Animal welfare: We love and care for the stray animals of this island and if you feel the same, you can donate to the special box of the local animal welfare organisation that provides for them all year round.

Kayaks: The use of kayaks is meant only for the Guests of the Villa, upon prior request and at no extra cost. They are property of the Villa and Guests are expected to comply with the Coastguard safety rules, use them carefully, and store them appropriately.
